You can manage different types of real estate in your portfolio.
We know 8 main groups:
1. Residential:
Residential again consists of two types: apartments and houses.
a) What are apartments?
An apartment is a single living space among many others within the same building.
Adding single apartments
If you as a real estate agent are only allowed to sell or rent out one unit from the building, the relevant apartment will be entered under residential> apartments.

b) What are houses?
A house is a building for human habitation, especially one that consists of a ground floor and one or more upper storeys.
Adding single houses
If you, as a real estate agent, get a separate home for sale or for rent, you enter it under residential> houses.

2. New construction:
A New Construction property is a piece of real estate that has completely new improvement on the property.
You can develop a new building or various homes on a piece of land.
In both cases you enter a new construction project in Bricr.
A new construction project will therefore consist of various separate units, which will be linked to form a whole: the new-build project.
You can link all kind of real estate to a project. So you can link residential>apartments, residential>houses, parking lot and commercial units.
You enter the individual units under residential, but you link them to the new construction project.

3. Relet:
A "relet" means a new tenant is responsible for a unit and pays the landlord.
In Bricr, it is a collection of units that together form a building or neighbourhood that must be let again and again if the current tenant gives notice.
So you will link in Bricr, residential>apartments or residential> houses with only a rent price to a relet project.
You enter the individual units under residential, but you link them to the relet project.

4. Commercial:
Commercial Real Estate (CRE) is property that is used exclusively for business-related purposes or to provide a workspace rather than as a living space, which would instead constitute residential real estate. Most often, commercial real estate is leased to tenants to conduct income-generating activities. This broad category of real estate can include everything from a single storefront to a single office villa.
If you as a real estate agent are only allowed to sell or rent out one unit from the building, the relevant commercial property will be entered under commercial.
If you, as a real estate agent, get a separate commercial property for sale or for rent, you enter it also under commercial.

5. Commercial building:
Commercial buildings are an important part of doing business, both for those who own them and for those who rent them. A commercial building could contain one or more of many types of businesses, including retailers, restaurants, offices or manufacturing.
Commercial buildings are buildings where commercial activities take place. Commercial buildings include office buildings, retail space, warehouses and more. This differs somewhat from commercial property, which also includes multi-family buildings like apartment buildings. The reason for this is that commercial buildings are where commerce happens, while commercial property earns money for its owners but doesn't have to have commerce happening in it. Multi-use buildings that have a mix of spaces, such as a retail area and apartments, can still be considered commercial in certain circumstances.
If you, as a broker, are responsible for all units in the commercial real estate building, you create a commercial building and link all units to this building.
You enter the individual units under commercial, but you link them to the commercial building.

6. Agriculture:
Agricultural property means real property used for farming in any of its branches, including cultivating of soil; growing and harvesting of any agricultural, horticultural, or floricultural commodity; dairying; raising of livestock, bees, fish, fur-bearing animals, or poultry; turf and tree farming; and performing any practices on a farm as an incident to, or in conjunction with, these farming operations. Agricultural property does not include property used for commercial storage, processing, distribution, marketing, or shipping operations. We place this under commercial or commercial building.

7. Parking lot:
A parking lot, also known as a car lot, is a cleared area that is intended for parking vehicles. Usually, the term refers to a dedicated area that has been provided with a durable or semi-durable surface.
In most countries where cars are the dominant mode of transportation, parking lots are a feature of every city and suburban area. Shopping malls, sports stadiums, megachurches and similar venues often feature car parks of immense area.
If you, as a broker, are allowed to sell or rent out a separate parking space, enter it under parking lot.
If you, as a broker, sell or rent parking spaces linked to a house or commercial real estate property, you also enter them here, but they will be linked to each other. If you are allowed to rent out parking spaces at an apartment complex, you enter them here as well, but you link them to the building that you have entered at new construction or relet.
